Max Muscle Sports Nutrition Faces America's Obesity Epidemic One Person at a Time

Leading health and fitness franchise chain is committed to making America healthier in 2011 by employing personalized plans to ensure success.

It’s time to say goodbye to both excess weight and excuses in 2011. Studies show that the stressful and sedentary lifestyles Americans lead are causing significant unhealthy consequences; at present our nation boasts a staggering 63% obesity rate. Often, lack of motivation is the precursor to those pounds slowly creeping up throughout the year and, as a result, each new year, the most popular resolution by far is weight loss. Max Muscle Sports Nutrition (MMSN) is stepping up to the plate to make their clients healthier and subsequently happier, and also to show them that they can feel confident about the process. With a vast array of services and products geared for soccer moms and serious athletes alike, this franchise is much more than a retail venue, and instead more like one-stop shopping for those ready to take the step towards better health.

Max Muscle Sports Nutrition is America’s premier sports nutrition retail outlet and franchise system; recently they announced plans to expand franchise outlet numbers by nearly 30% in 2011. In order to accomplish this, they knew they had to incorporate “judgment free zones” into each franchise location so that anyone and everyone could feel comfortable embarking on his or her personal health journey.

"Because 90 percent of our customers are not hardcore athletes or body builders—they're simply men and women who want to look better and take better care of themselves—we know there's rising demand for what we offer," said Bill Warner, Vice President of Franchise Development. "Especially with the baby boomer generation seeking greater longevity and just a better quality of life, we see incredible potential in serving that need through this business."

“We know that people are overwhelmed with the choices available to them, and often don’t know where to start. Each individual has different needs based on his or her age, health and ability, and we are able to have our Certified Fitness Nutrition Coaches™ guide you to the best program for you. A customized nutrition plan is the only way to get proven results EVERY time. A Certified Fitness Nutrition Coach™ will tailor the right program specifically for you,” said Warner.

MMSN retail outlets sell scientifically proven nutritional supplements at more than 140 sites in 38 states. According to Warner, the front one-third of MMSN stores have no product displayed, but instead include communal areas where trained Certified Fitness Nutrition Coaches™ learn about each guest's needs.

"We're service providers, not product purveyors," Warner said. "We're not just trying to sell them the deal of the week or our highest margin product. We want to get to know them first and understand what it is they would like to improve. Our goal then is to develop a food-based diet and nutrition plan that will help them achieve their objectives."

A full understanding that optimum health exists when a mind, body, and spirit connection is established is apparent in each initiative at MMSN. Whether one is interested in supplements, guidance and support, delectable recipes, or raving success stories, MMSN stands apart from competition by providing concierge level service and expert knowledge on the institution of healthier living. 2011 resolutions for losing that pesky weight might just be doable, and it just might be easier than we think!

Max Muscle Sports Nutrition Pumps Up 2011 Franchise Effort

Leading health and fitness chain seeks qualified franchisees eager to revolutionize America's health

Max Muscle Sports Nutrition (MMSN), America's premier sports nutrition retail outlet and franchise system, announced plans to expand its franchise outlet numbers by nearly 30 percent in 2011. Citing soaring interest among Americans to live healthier lifestyles, Bill Warner, MMSN's Vice President of Franchise Development, expects franchise sales to climb steadily in the coming year as the country shakes off the doldrums of the recent recession.

"Because 90 percent of our customers are not hardcore athletes or body builders—they're simply men and women who want to look better and take better care of themselves—we know there's rising demand for what we offer," said Warner. "Especially with the baby boomer generation seeking greater longevity and a better quality of life, we see so much potential in serving that need through this business."

MMSN retail outlets sell a combination of scientifically proven nutritional supplements and fashionable athletic apparel at more than 140 sites in 38 states.

Just as Max Muscle Sports Nutrition serves health-minded clients, it's seeking franchise candidates who live healthy lifestyles.

"Our most successful store owners are people who live this way already and who have a passion to help others live the same way," Warner said. "It's no surprise that, historically speaking, many of our franchisees started out as Max Muscle customers."

Franchisees come from a broad range of backgrounds: a 22-year-old UPS truck driver; a 68 year-old retired Special Forces officer; school teachers; and even a high-ranking government official. The only common denominators between them, Warner said, are a passion for the business, a willingness to learn the system and a desire to help others.

"For our franchisees, it's not a job. It's doing what they love to do," said Warner.

Franchisee Profile: James Gustason, Franchisee of Bountiful, UT

Location: Bountiful, UT
Opening: March 2nd, 2011

Q: Where are you originally from?

A: I’m originally from Salt Lake City, UT. My wife Becky and I grew up as neighbors. Our families went to the same church.

Q: Before Franchising, what were you involved with?

A: I was the assistant controller for 50 Jiffy Lube franchisees. I was also the controller for an auto parts franchise called Mighty Auto parts. Becky worked in data entry and also as a stay at home mother with our four children.

Q: Are you a first time business owner?

A: Yes we are.

Q: How did you learn about the brand?

A: In June 2010, I was laid off from my job due to the economy. I wanted to find a career that would benefit more people than just me. I had been in a Max Muscle store and was impressed with business model and community outreach. I was also impressed with how effective Max Muscle supplements were.

Q: What specific steps did you take in validating the brand prior to joining the system?

A: I emailed Max Muscle to get more information. I also called franchisees to find out about their personal experiences. I had a Discovery Day at Max Muscle Corporate in September and by October everything was finalized.

Q: Why was this brand the right fit for you?

A: Fitness has always been a part of my life. We have always been into nutrition and interested in understanding how the human body works. Max Muscle doesn’t feel like a job. It doesn’t even feel like you’re working, just helping others and having fun.

Q: How do you see the brand connecting with your local community?

A: We are trying to organize free nutritional seminars with local businesses. We are also working with a local chiropractor to conduct seminars at his facility as well. We are also reaching out to the community through sponsoring community fitness events.

Q: What are your future goals? Development plans?

A: First and foremost we are looking forward toward opening! Within the next couple of years we hope to be working with at least 30 doctors in our area as well as any fitness oriented business to further the cause of health and fitness. We want to be a household name. We hope to promote a healthy lifestyle within our family and community.
